Introduction

NewFarm AgriFinance is firmly convinced that the value creation for its stakeholders and in general requires environmental, social and corporate governance (“ESG”) guidelines in all phases of its activity.

We believe that the incorporation of the principles of sustainability into our ESG policy will lead to a more balanced risk-return profile for our investments and a long term path of growth.

In order to pursue our responsible investing strategy ambitions, our Board of Directors have approved and implemented an ESG policy for our activity.
The responsible investing principles, through the adoption of the ESG policy by NewFarm AgriFinance provides policies, procedures and practices for NewFarm AgriFinance as an asset manager.

Policies

Environmental Policy

NewFarm AgriFinance understands that its activity has a footprint on the environment and through its ESG policy has the target to minimize this impact. We are committed to foster environmentally responsible conduct promoting these efforts.

NewFarm AgriFinance has identified its environmental footprint as follows;

  • Use of energy, water, natural resources and, in general, manufactured
  • Production of
  • Emission of polluting gases contributing to the greenhouse

In order to achieve the target of minimising its environmental footprint, we will;

  • Reduce the production of waste and improve recycling
  • Use in a more efficient way energy and natural
  • Increase the use of remote conferencing in order to minimize
  • Minimize emissions of gases responsible for the greenhouse
  • Increase and promote the use of products derived from renewable resources and are recyclable.
  • Adopt and promote the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency

All of these actions will be implemented at NewFarm AgriFinance. NewFarm AgriFinance will assess environmental related aspects during the pre-investment due diligence analysis phase of deals.

Social Policy

NewFarm AgriFinance considers that social aspects are crucial in our investment and operational activity for the effects that they may have on the different stakeholders. Taking this into account, we will;

  • Promote the respect of internationally recognized human
  • Avoid, directly or indirectly, the use of forced labour or child
  • Promote the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and
  • Promote equal opportunities and diversity
  • Monitor the health and safety risks related to work activities with the aim to eliminate or minimise those
  • Promote a recruiting, developing and retaining system related to human resources able to create a working environment where the contribution of each employee is encouraged, recognised, respected and
  • Promote the support of its employees to charities and similar organisations and institutions.

NewFarm AgriFinance believes the principles of transparency, fairness and meritocracy should inspire its activity and be promoted among all employees.

We will support local initiatives and organisations which, through their activities, have positive returns for the communities in which we operate.

Governance Policy

NewFarm AgriFinance understands that governance issues are crucial for the efficient management of business; taking this into account, we;

  • Will adhere to applicable regulations and cooperate with the financial supervising authorities.
  • Will adhere to the proper standards of transparency and accountability in order to reach the highest standards of business
  • Will implement procedures, controls and reporting in order to better perform our activity, using systems of internal control and risk management covering matters relating environmental, social and ethical
  • Will prevent the use of any information, relationship or business derived from our activity for personal financial gain by any employee or
  • Will identify any potential conflicts of interests arising during our activity, making every effort to avoid them or addressing them properly in line with best
